A Stranger Here by Gillian Bouras, was quite a nice novel. I feel like nice is an appropriate word as I found it a great read that has a story which really flows.
The story is about three women in Greece, and I like that in the book, it alternates between perspectives of the characters on the same situation. It really let me get to know the characters, which is something I always enjoy.
I think the only thing that bothered me about this book was that it was very straight forward without a climax. At least, it didn’t feel like there was one? I found that it felt like it was trying to build up but it sort of didn’t quite get there. It just sort of spoke about the thoughts of each character and that’s it.
Other than that I believe the story was good. It had Greek words in there that included the translation straight after. I took an extra step though to try and google the words so that I could pronounce them, which wasn’t necessary but I’m generally a curious person, haha.
All in all I liked the book, didn’t love it but enjoyed it enough and it kept me interested. I rate it 4 out of 5 stars.
