The List: A Love Story in 781 Chapters, was not what I expected it to be at all. It was yet another book I blindly bought online without any expectations, whatsoever.
So this book is a really cute, quirky short story of a typical female encounter with romance and it is honestly awesome. I mean, hey, it could be a typical guy encounter too but the main character is female which is why I stated that. Haha.
I love that the chapters are numbered points, and actually, every point I would consider a chapter of a story, so it just works perfectly. It’s amazing how you can explain a chapter in a literal sentence, with the occasional sub-points.
So with every love story, you have expectations, right? Well I did for The List, and to be honest it actually took me by surprise. It was also super comforting, from start to finish. It’s basically a comfort read you’d just get to because it’s an old favourite. I could re read this book a few times myself. I wish I had my own copy!
There’s humour, there’s love, there’s heartbreak, and there’s so many mixed experiences. It’s a bundle of emotions and it’s up there in my top reads for this year for sure! 5 out of 5 stars for this book. If you get the chance to pick this one up, I definitely recommend holding on to it!
